Jason Jackson says UFC doesn't want him disrupting Islam Makhachev's division

Former Bellator welterweight champion Jason Jackson has publicly called for a UFC contract, claiming he possesses the skills to dethrone Islam Makhachev and disrupt the promotion's welterweight division. The 35-year-old Jamaican fighter argues that the UFC is deliberately avoiding signing him because his arrival would shake up the competitive hierarchy.

Jackson bases his confidence on recent sparring sessions with Ian Garry, whom Makhachev faced in a title defence at UFC 330. According to Jackson, he dominated Garry during gym work and felt no struggle against the Irish fighter. He also points to his history with Yaroslav Amosov, handily defeating the undefeated wrestler, and believes Amosov is a superior fighter to Makhachev.

"I want to go to the UFC," Jackson said on social media. "I feel like I could beat Makhachev. If I get into the UFC, I feel like that's one that the UFC don't want—a guy my age coming from a different promotion, going there and just disrupting their whole pecking order."

Currently holding a 20-6 professional record, Jackson is 2-2 in his last four fights. He recently scored an impressive 20-second knockout victory at Most Valuable Promotions' inaugural event in May. While Jackson's claims remain unproven at the UFC level, his willingness to challenge the promotion's top fighter reflects the confidence many veteran fighters carry when seeking entry into the sport's premier organization.
