Brendan Allen sees just one path to victory for Christian Leroy Duncan
Brendan Allen has issued a stark warning ahead of his UFC Vegas 122 middleweight main event against Christian Leroy Duncan on October 10 at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas: Duncan's only path to victory is landing a lucky knockout shot.
Allen (27–7), riding a three-fight winning streak following victories over Marvin Vettori, Reinier de Ridder, and Edmen Shahbazyan, believes he holds a decisive technical advantage across all disciplines. During media day, the fighter known as "All In" conceded that Duncan possesses superior athleticism and explosive striking power but argued his wrestling, jiu-jitsu, and fundamental striking are all superior. He also claimed to be significantly more durable than the English contender.
"The only way he wins is to catch me," Allen said. "I don't think he can wrestle better than me. We know his jiu-jitsu is not better than mine. I think purely basics of striking, I think mine are a lot better." Allen predicted a one-sided beating if Duncan fails to connect cleanly early, with the advantage widening dramatically after the second round.
Duncan (15–2) arrives on a five-fight winning streak of his own, most recently defeating Roman Dolidze and Jared Cannonier. His explosiveness and technical striking have earned him serious title-contention consideration, but Allen's assessment suggests a significant stylistic mismatch favoring the more well-rounded grappler. The winner of this main event will strengthen their claim to a middleweight title shot in a division that continues to cycle contenders at the top.
