‘The Queen of Violence is done’: Ariane Lipski da Silva announces retirement after PFL San Diego

Brazilian flyweight Ariane Lipsk da Silva has announced her retirement from professional MMA following a first-round submission loss to Jena Bishop at PFL San Diego on Saturday. The 32-year-old, who called herself "The Queen of Violence" throughout her nearly 13-year career, exits the sport with an 18–12 record and ten finishes. Da Silva competed across the sport's biggest stages, including six victories in fourteen UFC fights, two of which earned performance bonuses over Casey O'Neill and Luana Carolina. She was formerly the KSW flyweight champion and split a pair of bouts in her recent PFL stint, debuting with a decision win over Sumiko Inaba in March. Da Silva had briefly considered stepping away after her UFC release but found new motivation signing with PFL. In her retirement statement posted on Instagram, she reflected on the lessons defeat and victory taught her, expressed gratitude to her supporters, and emphasized that young women in MMA need not compromise their values to succeed. She closed by saying she is now ready for "a new season of life."
