Sean Sharaf calls out UFC over Gable Steveson promotion

Sean Sharaf has publicly questioned the UFC's promotional tactics ahead of his scheduled bout with Gable Steveson at UFC 331 on September 19 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Sharaf (4-2), an ex-Marine, expressed frustration on social media over UFC content creator Nina Marie Daniele's repeated collaborations with Steveson, suggesting the organization was promoting his opponent while overlooking him.

In a comment on one of Daniele's Instagram posts, Sharaf wrote: "This is like the 4th collab they do with him, what's up with that UFC guess Marines aren't worthy of interviews just r*pists." The remark referenced past legal issues involving Steveson and his teammate Dylan Martinez, who were arrested on sexual assault charges in 2019 but released without criminal charges due to insufficient evidence.

Steveson (4-0) brings an impressive pedigree to the UFC. The Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling from Tokyo transitioned to MMA last year and has recorded three first-round finishes in the promotion, including a debut victory over Elisha Ellison in July. Sharaf, meanwhile, arrived in the UFC as an undefeated prospect with four first-round finishes of his own but has suffered knockout losses in both his UFC fights to date.

Sharaf's public callout reflects broader frustration common in combat sports when fighters feel the organization is investing promotional resources unequally.
