Jalin Turner reveals UFC contract status after 39-second knockout

Jalin Turner needed just 39 seconds to dispatch Kaue Fernandes at UFC 330, earning a $100,000 performance bonus for the devastating lightweight knockout. The victory also marked the beginning of Turner's new multi-fight UFC contract.

Turner's previous deal expired after his first-round knockout of Edson Barboza last December, which represented his return from a brief retirement. The UFC promptly offered him a fresh five-fight agreement, leaving Turner with four bouts remaining. When asked whether he explored free agency or offers from rival promotions, Turner said his manager handled negotiations but that he was satisfied staying with the UFC. "I let my manager handle all that," Turner explained to Ariel Helwani. "I'm happy with the UFC. I ain't saying nothing else about it... Ultimately, the UFC came through; they always come through."

Turner (16–9) had stepped away from fighting after a loss to Ignacio Bahamondes, citing emotional strain from the violence inherent in combat sport, particularly after brutal exchanges with Dan Hooker and King Green. His return showed a different mindset, and he has now strung together consecutive first-round finishes that have re-established him as a dangerous striker at lightweight.
