Dana White confirms Michael ‘Venom’ Page’s tenure with the UFC is over

Michael "Venom" Page's time with the UFC has come to an end. The British fighter competed in his final bout on contract at UFC Paris last Saturday, earning a unanimous decision victory over Nursulton Ruziboev in the event's featured attraction. Following the fight, Page was removed from the UFC roster, and on Tuesday night, UFC CEO Dana White publicly confirmed that the promotion had no plans to re-sign him.

"That was his last fight on his contract," White stated. "I don't think we're signing him, no. What's the confusion? I think it's been pretty clear that he wasn't being re-signed, and that he would be taken out of the rankings, because he's no longer on the roster."

Page, a former Bellator interim title challenger, joined the UFC in 2024 with considerable fanfare and compiled an impressive 5-1 record during his tenure. However, the partnership never quite gained momentum. The 39-year-old bounced between weight classes and produced several underwhelming performances, including his final outing against Ruziboev. Heading into Paris, Page expressed his desire to remind the UFC why they signed him in the first place, but instead delivered another lackluster showing—one he himself acknowledged fell short of expectations.

Page now enters free agency at an interesting juncture in his career. The veteran carries a 26-3 overall MMA record and is riding a four-fight winning streak, suggesting there may still be considerable interest from other promotions. At 39, however, he will need to prove he can consistently deliver compelling performances to attract meaningful opportunities at the highest level.
