Natalia Silva, Wang Cong share intense faceoff ahead of UFC 332 main event

Natalia Silva and Wang Cong faced off intensely at the UFC 332 pre-fight press conference on Thursday, with the two flyweights set to contest the vacant women's flyweight title on Saturday night. The belt became available after incumbent champion Valentina Shevchenko withdrew due to injury, creating an opportunity for either fighter to claim gold in the main event.
During the press conference, Wang Cong challenged Silva's approach to promoting the bout, suggesting the challenger wasn't doing enough to generate fan interest ahead of the main event. Wang even prepared a written note for Silva in an attempt to elevate the theatrical elements of their pre-fight buildup, hoping to generate additional hype for Saturday's fight.
"I had my plan let's heat up the faceoff for the [ceremonial weigh-ins] but she didn't take a look at it," Wang said. "We need to bring the money to the show. We need make people hyped. She should do that."
Silva, however, remained focused solely on the competition itself, dismissing the need for additional promotional theatrics. "If she wants to get cute, she can get cute by herself," Silva responded. "It doesn't matter. I'm not here to play. This is my dream, I'm here to fight. I'm here to enjoy it." The contrasting approaches underscored the different philosophies the two title contenders bring into their championship clash.
