Marvin Vettori makes major change following 4 straight UFC losses
Marvin Vettori has made a significant coaching change in a bid to reverse a four-fight losing streak in the UFC. The Italian middleweight, now 19–10, has parted ways with American Top Team and returned to California to retrain under new leadership ahead of his upcoming bout against Ismail Naurdiev at UFC 332 on October 3 in Salt Lake City. Vettori, a former title challenger, spent time at Kings MMA from 2015 to 2022 before brief stints at Xtreme Couture and ATT. Although he praised ATT's facilities, he felt the gym wasn't extracting his best performances. Beneil Dariush has taken over as Vettori's head coach, and he has reunited with his original boxing and strength-and-conditioning coaches. "I had to find myself again," Vettori told MMA Fighting, crediting the move to rediscovering the formula that led to a five-fight winning streak and a title shot earlier in his career. The shift represents a last-ditch effort to salvage his UFC tenure as he faces mounting pressure to string together consecutive victories.
