UFC 329: Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway card finalized with late replacement

UFC 329's preliminary card received a late boost when Alessandro Costa stepped in to face Cody Durden after Ode Osbourne was forced to withdraw due to injury. The flyweight bout will take place on the prelims for the July 11 event headlined by Conor McGregor versus Max Holloway at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Costa's acceptance marks his second consecutive short-notice appearance on a UFC card. The fighter made an immediate impact in his previous emergency booking in early June, delivering a lightning-quick first-round knockout of Matt Schnell. Now the Brazilian is attempting to replicate that success with minimal preparation time against the veteran American Top Team representative.

Durden has also made a living accepting last-minute opportunities. The fighter took an April matchup against Jafel Filho on short notice and earned a unanimous decision victory, halting a four-fight losing streak. That win positioned him well ahead of the Costa matchup, and the American was additionally rewarded with a new four-fight contract extension as part of accepting the July 11 fight.
