DWCS Season 10, Week 7 results: Two wild brawls highlight historic week on Contender Series

Week 7 of Season 10 of the UFC's Contender Series made history on Tuesday night at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, awarding six UFC contracts—including two to fighters who lost their bouts, a first in the show's history.
Main Card
Norbert Novenyi Jr. def. Theo Haig via unanimous decision (29-28 x3)
Alvi Dasuyev def. Jaden Ortega via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
Marcos Degli def. Paris Moran via submission (rear-naked choke) — 4:46, Round 2
Piero Guaylupo def. Callum Connor via unanimous decision (30-27 x3)
Damian Piwowarczyk def. Emilio Quissua via TKO (punches) — 4:55, Round 1
Norbert Novenyi Jr. outlasted Theo Haig in the main event in a closer contest than expected. The favored prospect dropped Haig early but the London Shootfighting prospect rallied with grappling, controlling Novenyi's back through much of the first round and frustrating him for the remainder of a forgettable decision. Despite the win, Novenyi did not secure a UFC contract, though Dana White indicated interest in seeing him return.
In the co-main event, welterweight titleholder Alvi Dasuyev and Jaden Ortega delivered a wild scrap. Dasuyev started strong with early pressure and a knockdown, but gassed badly by the second round, allowing Ortega to surge. Dasuyev recovered in the third to secure the decision, later attributing his cardio issues to jet lag. Both men earned contracts—Dasuyev for his victory and Ortega for his toughness and comeback.
Marcos Degli, the LFA interim flyweight champion, submitted Paris Moran with a one-armed rear-naked choke in the second round, earning his contract after a slow start. Piero Guaylupo and Callum Connor put on one of the season's best bouts, exchanging nearly 400 significant strikes before Guaylupo took a clean decision. White signed both for their performance. Damian Piwowarczyk, a KSW veteran and training partner of Jan Blachowicz, overcame a sluggish opening to drop Emilio Quissua and finish him via TKO in the first round.
