Shanelle Dyer: Elise Reed is ‘very susceptible to a knockout’

Shanelle Dyer is hunting another spectacular finish when she faces Elise Reed at UFC Sacramento on August 22. The British prospect (7-1) made a successful UFC debut in March, stopping Ravena Oliveira by technical knockout in the third round at the London event.

Dyer believes Reed's taekwondo-based striking style, built around kicks and a low guard, creates exploitable openings. "Stylistically, this is a perfect matchup for me," Dyer explained at media day. "My opponent, she has a low guard taekwondo style. She is a kicker, but I am a better kicker. I have been working so much. She's very susceptible to a knockout."

Reed (8-5 overall, 4-5 in the UFC) is fighting for roster retention after an inconsistent UFC run marked by alternating wins and losses since joining the promotion.
