UFC commentator Joe Rogan signs $250M contract extension with Spotify

UFC commentator and podcast host Joe Rogan has signed a $250 million contract extension with Spotify, according to reporting from The Wall Street Journal. The deal keeps the 59-year-old locked into a multi-year agreement with the streaming platform—matching the value of his previous extension signed in 2024.
Rogan first joined Spotify on an exclusive basis in 2020 before renegotiating terms two years ago. Under this latest agreement, The Joe Rogan Experience remains available across multiple platforms including Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, YouTube, and other streaming services, rather than remaining exclusive to Spotify alone.
The Joe Rogan Experience launched in 2009 and has evolved into one of the world's most-listened-to podcasts. The show regularly features guests spanning entertainment, politics, science, and mixed martial arts, giving Rogan an expansive platform for his comedy and long-form conversations. Beyond podcasting, Rogan built his initial fame as a comedian and actor, and became a fixture in combat sports as a color commentator for the UFC during its ascent to mainstream prominence in the 2000s. He continues to work UFC events as a commentator, typically appearing at a limited number of major numbered cards annually.
While Rogan's platform remains enormously influential, he has faced criticism in recent years over the spread of conspiracy theories and unverified claims on his show. Nevertheless, The Joe Rogan Experience maintains its position as one of the most widely consumed podcasts globally, and the substantial contract extension underscores Spotify's confidence in his continued appeal to audiences.
