No corners cut for Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor is taking a methodical, low-profile approach to his training camp ahead of UFC 329, viewing his quiet preparation as a reflection of confidence rather than a sign of desperation. The former two-division champion will end a five-year absence from competition when he faces Max Holloway on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
McGregor told The Mac Life that his team has maintained a "no flash" mentality throughout camp, focusing purely on work without seeking external validation or media attention. "I feel great. I feel absolutely amazing. Stellar," he said. "The work has been exceptional. No corners cut. We've been quiet this camp, and we've been at work. So, that's confidence. If there's a lack of confidence, you need to share things to get this ego boost. We don't need it. We'll do it on the night."
The bout will take place at welterweight, a division in which McGregor has competed three times previously. Holloway, by contrast, will be making his welterweight debut at UFC 329. McGregor expressed enthusiasm for both the upcoming challenge and his training team. "I'm excited by it. I'm excited by my team and my country," he concluded.
