Dana White checks on Frank Mir’s daughter following stunning DWCS upset
Dana White reached out to Bella Mir following her unexpected loss to Alex Apodaca during Week 3 of Dana White's Contender Series Season 10, checking in on the heavily favored prospect after she failed to secure a UFC contract.
White discussed his conversation with Mir during the DWCS Week 4 post-fight press conference. According to the UFC CEO, Mir—daughter of former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir—handled the defeat with composure and perspective. "She was in a good place," White said, recounting Mir's response. "She's like, 'Listen, I've lost before. I've lost jiu-jitsu matches. I've lost wrestling matches. You know, I've lost before; I know what it feels like to lose and I'm good. I'll be back and I'll come back stronger.'"
When asked if Mir might return to DWCS later in the season, White did not rule out the possibility, though he noted that any decision would ultimately rest with Mir and her father. The response highlighted Mir's resilience despite the setback and suggested pathways remain open for her to earn a UFC deal in future Contender Series events.
