Renato Moicano vs. Brian Ortega scrapped from UFC 331; Moicano gets moved to new card

Brian Ortega's undisclosed injury has forced the cancellation of his lightweight bout against Renato Moicano from UFC 331, which takes place Saturday in Los Angeles. The promotion announced the news Monday.

Moicano will not sit idle. Instead, the Brazilian has been rebooked to face rising lightweight contender Tom Nolan in the main event of a UFC Fight Night card set for October 31 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

The loss of Moicano vs. Ortega reduces UFC 331's fight card to 12 total bouts. The heavyweight matchup between Gable Steveson and Sean Sharaf will now serve as the opener for the main card on Saturday night.

UFC 331 remains headlined by a flyweight title rematch, with Joshua Van defending his belt against former champion Alexandre Pantoja.
