Light heavyweight contenders set for rematch at UFC Belgrade

Jan Blachowicz and Bogdan Guskov will rematch at UFC Belgrade on August 1 after their first encounter ended in a majority draw at UFC 325 in December. The light heavyweight bout was originally rescheduled for UFC 328 in May, but Blachowicz withdrew due to injury.

UFC Belgrade, formally UFC Fight Night 283, takes place at Belgrade Arena in Serbia and will stream in full on Paramount+. The card is headlined by a welterweight clash between Uros Medic and Daniel Rodriguez.

Blachowicz, a former light heavyweight champion, has struggled recently, posting a 1-3-2 record over his last six fights since October 2021. Now 43, the Polish veteran has faced elite opposition throughout that stretch, losing to Carlos Ulberg, Alex Pereira, and Glover Teixeira while drawing with Magomed Ankalaev and Guskov. Guskov, 33, had ridden a four-fight finishing streak before their first meeting, defeating Zac Pauga, Ryan Spann, Billy Elekana, and Nikita Krylov in succession. The Uzbekistan native has finished all 18 of his professional wins inside the distance, making a rematch against Blachowicz a significant test for both lightweights seeking momentum in a competitive division.
