Islam Makhachev throws in the towel after fighter dislocates shoulder

Magomed Magomedov suffered a third-round TKO defeat to Daniel Marcos in the PFL Tampa preliminary card after dislocating his left shoulder late in the second round. The one-time Bellator title contender and UFC veteran Marcos engaged in a wrestling-focused bout for two rounds before the injury occurred. Despite Makhachev and other cornermen spending an entire minute between rounds attempting to relocate the shoulder without success, Magomedov was cleared by the ringside doctor to continue into round three. However, when Marcos immediately pressured the injured arm upon clinching against the cage, Islam Makhachev—serving in Magomedov's corner—threw in the towel just 11 seconds into the final round to prevent further damage.
