Cris Cyborg confirms she will fight MMA again following PFL farewell
Cris Cyborg has confirmed she plans to continue fighting in mixed martial arts following her upcoming PFL farewell bout, signaling she is not ready to retire from competition. The veteran Brazilian fighter made the revelation in a recent interview, emphasizing her ability to compete at the highest level.
Cyborg most recently defeated Ketlen Vieira via unanimous decision at PFL Tampa on August 22, a fight originally billed as her final MMA appearance. The victory improved her professional record to 30–2. In an interview with MMA Sucka, Cyborg pointed to her performance against Vieira as proof she remains elite, noting she won four of five rounds despite Vieira missing weight by over seven pounds. Cyborg highlighted her superior striking output and fight intelligence, landing nearly double the strikes of her opponent over the 25-minute fight.
"Yes, I will fight MMA again," Cyborg said. "I think my performance against Ketlen Vieira proved I am still able to compete against the very best in the sport." Her decision to continue suggests the storied featherweight and heavyweight champion is not yet finished with the sport.
