Former UFC heavyweight champion reveals 125-pound weight loss
Former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia has posted a dramatic weight loss update on social media, revealing he has shed over 125 pounds in his transformation journey. The two-time champion shared a shirtless mirror selfie with the caption: "Slowly getting there. 20 lbs to go and I will be 265 lbs. Over 125lbs down."
Sylvia's target weight of 265 pounds aligns with the current non-championship UFC heavyweight limit, suggesting a possible return to competition or simply a personal fitness goal. The Maine-iac competed in the UFC 13 times between 2002 and 2008, establishing himself as one of the promotion's heavyweight elite. He won his first title at UFC 41 by defeating Ricco Rodriguez, successfully defended against Gan McGee, but was stripped of the belt following a failed drug test. After two unsuccessful title rematches against Frank Mir and Andrei Arlovski, Sylvia briefly competed outside the UFC before returning to claim a second championship in a rematch with Arlovski at UFC 59.
Sylvia retired in 2013 with a record of 31–10 (1 NC). His current weight loss represents one of the most dramatic transformations in recent MMA history and has sparked curiosity among fans about his intentions moving forward.
