TUF 34’s Delphine Benouaich grew up fighting brothers long before pursuing UFC dream: ‘I began when I was born’

Delphine Benouaich, a strawweight competitor on The Ultimate Fighter 34, credits growing up with three brothers as foundational to her combat sports journey, even if it didn't initially feel like formal training. The 31-year-old Frenchwoman, who hails from Évry, a suburb of Paris, competed as an amateur from 2021 to 2023 with organizations including the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation and Cage Warriors Academy before making her professional debut in 2024. Her path to MMA was unconventional: after competing as a grappler for four years on the French national team, Benouaich transitioned to mixed martial arts and boxing when work as a physical education teacher brought her to an excellent boxing gym in her hometown. Her coach's insistence on an extended amateur career—where she accumulated significant experience fighting varied opponents at different skill levels—proved invaluable. That preparation paid dividends on TUF 34, where Benouaich defeated Mackenzie Stiller in her quarterfinal bout to advance in the strawweight tournament, bringing a 7–2 professional record into the competition. She is now two wins away from securing a UFC contract. On the show, Benouaich has become known for adopting English phrases, particularly "Say less," which she describes as aligned with her personal character and artistic direction. Her victory over Stiller moves her closer to realizing her long-standing goal of competing in the UFC.
