Sidelined by an ACL injury sustained during his title-winning effort against Jiri Prochazka in April, Ulberg has outlined a four-man bracket on Instagram to streamline the contender process. "Ankalaev vs. Jiri. Give them both full camps," Ulberg wrote. "It's a fight the division deserves, and stylistically, it's one the fans would love to see. Costa vs. Rountree. That's a wildcard. High risk, high reward. Someone's leaving with serious momentum." The champion indicated he will be ready by 2027 to face whoever emerges from the proposed matchups. UFC CEO Dana White has previously indicated that an interim light heavyweight title may be contested while Ulberg recovers, heightening speculation about the division's near-term direction and Ulberg's timeline for return.
