Valentina Shevchenko warns Natalia Silva: ‘I’m coming soon for my belt’
Valentina Shevchenko has issued a pointed warning to newly crowned UFC flyweight champion Natalia Silva, declaring that she intends to reclaim the 125-pound title soon. Silva captured the vacant belt at UFC 332 on Saturday, defeating Cong Wang by unanimous decision in the main event at Delta Center in Salt Lake City.
Silva delivered a dominant performance against Wang, extending her undefeated UFC record to 9–0 and her overall winning streak to 15 consecutive victories. The Brazilian's impressive display earned her recognition from Shevchenko, who vacated the title due to lingering injuries and acknowledged that Silva is "deserving" of the championship.
In a social media post, Shevchenko congratulated Silva while making her intentions clear: "Well deserved, Natalia! Congratulations! It's my pleasure to know that UFC Champion's belt is now holding deserving martial artist—such as you are! But don't get too comfortable—keep it warm, I'm coming soon for my belt!"
Shevchenko last competed in November 2025, when she defeated Weili Zhang to record her ninth title defense across two separate championship reigns. The former two-division champion's statement suggests she intends to pursue a trilogy with the flyweight title once her injury recovery is complete.
